The ENVIROMUX® Enterprise Environment Monitoring System (EMS) monitors critical environmental conditions, such as temperature, humidity, liquid water presence, power, intrusion, and smoke. When a sensor goes out of range of a configurable threshold, the system will notify you via email, LEDs, alarm beacon, siren, web page, network management (SNMP), voice phone calls (via Automatic Voice Dialer System), and SMS messages (via email-to-SMS or external USB modem).

 

The system includes three internal sensors: temperature, humidity and power. It also supports 16 external configurable sensors, eight digital input sensors, and four output relays for control of external devices.

    • 4 Remote 1-Wire Sensors over IP
      • E-1W(P): two RJ11 connectors for daisy chaining many 1-wire temperature/humidity/dew point, thermocouple, or digital input expanders in any combination (up to 24 single-reading 1-wire sensors); two digital inputs sensitive to contact closure; dual DC power; optional Power over Ethernet (POE).
    • Use an RJ45 RS485 Sensor Expander to add 8 RJ45 RS485 sensors.
    • Use a Digital Input/Output Expander to add 16 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs.
  • Four output relays for control of external devices.
    • Relay activates upon alarm or via the user interface.
    • Control output relays via SNMP SET commands to power on/off external devices.
  • Supports NTI’s IP network video cameras for live view of any facility.
    • One integrated view – see different Web cameras side-by-side with physical and environmental parameters.
    • Any programmed event can trigger a snapshot from an IP camera.

    • Up to 20 Smart Alerts can be configured to use different event combinations to send alert messages.

    • Data log records samples of sensor readings. User specified sampling time period.
    • With E-16D, up to 1,724 data log entries and 1,000 event log entries are stored.

      • 256 MB non-volatile memory – both the data log and event log persist after power cycle.
  • Automatically configures network settings received from a connected DHCP server.
    • If a DHCP server is not found, the default static IP address will be used.
  • Integrates with various Open Source monitoring packages – Nagios and MRTG.
    • The unit can be polled via SNMP.
  • USB ports for connecting USB modem or for downloading log data to USB flash drive.

    • The ENVIROMUX system can be mounted so that the sensor connectors are facing the front or back of the rack.

    1. Power Port

    2. RJ45 Sensor Ports

    • Sixteen RJ45 modular jacks for connecting NTI temperature, humidity, temperature/humidity, liquid detection, smoke detection, glass break, vibration and motion sensors.

    3. Digital Inputs

    • Eight screw terminals pairs for connecting dry contact devices.
    • Input voltage: 0VDC to +25VDC.
    • Provides +12VDC, 50mA for terminals 1-7, and +12VDC, 350mA for terminal 8 only.

    4. Digital Outputs

    13. Cascade In/Out Ports

    • Two RJ45 jacks.
    • A maximum of 5 systems can be used in a cascaded configuration via RS485 to increase the number of sensor ports (1 master, 4 slaves).
      • Each slave unit needs its own unique RS485 address value that can range from 1-255.
      • Use CAT5/5e/6 patch cables with RJ45 connectors wired straight through
      • Up to 4,000 feet between the master unit and the slave unit.
      • The last slave must have a terminating plug (E-TRMPLG, not included) in the empty socket.
    • Uses a single Web interface for all systems connected.

        • Users can configure the schedule for when they will be alerted, as well as customize the e-mail subject line for each sensor alert.
      • SNMP traps have unique OID’s (Object Identifiers) for each sensor.
    • Supports HTTP REST API to poll sensor data with response in JSON format.

    Internal Temperature Sensor

    • For monitoring the temperature inside the E-16D case.
      • Use an external temperature sensor for monitoring ambient air temperature.
    • Applications from 32 to 104°F (0 to 40°C).
    • Temperature accuracy:
      • ±1.44°F (±0.8°C) for 32 to 41°F (0 to 5°C).
      • ±0.72°F (±0.4°C) for 41 to 104°F (5 to 40°C).

    Internal Humidity Sensor

    • For monitoring the humidity inside the E-16D case.
      • Use an external humidity sensor for monitoring humidity in the air.
    • Applications from 20% to 80% relative humidity at temperatures between 32 to 104°F (0 to 40°C).
    • Accurate to within ±3% relative humidity (at 77°F/25°C).

    Internal Power Sensor

    • Measures mains voltage: 0 to 255 VAC
    • Measures battery voltage: 0 to 20 VDC
    • Measures voltage on 24VDC models: 20 to 32VDC

    Web Interface

    • Configuration can be done over the Internet/LAN or 4G data connection via Web page.
      • 4G data connection requires a USB 4G modem with a data plan.
        • Email and SMS alerts can be sent through the modem instead of the Ethernet connection.
    • Supports Internet Explorer 6.0 and higher, Firefox 1.5 and higher, Netscape 9, Google Chrome, Safari 1.3 and higher for MAC, and Safari 3.0 and higher for PC.

    Front Panel Interface

    • LEDs indicate the following:

      • “EXT ALERT” – external sensor goes out of range of a configurable threshold.
      • “LOW BAT” – backup battery is low.
      • “CHECK LOG” – message is posted to the log.
      • “AUX” – indicates Auxiliary device is powered.
      • “PWR” – indicates system is powered.
    • Alarm Test/Silence button – use to test or silence the alarm connected to the siren terminals
    • Restore Defaults button – use to manually restore the E-16D back to factory settings.
    • System Reset button – use to manually reboot/restart the firmware for the E-16D.

    Serial Interface / Telnet / SSH

    • Configure, control and monitor over the text-based menu system accessible via USB console port, RJ45 serial port, Telnet, and SSH.
      • Serial baud rate: 9,600 to 115,200bps.
      • Data format: 1 start bit, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit.
    • Access is controlled via username/password.
      • System stores encrypted login information.
    • Two user levels: user and administrator.
